According to global retail sales in 2017, Domino’s has become the largest pizza company in the world. According to the report, due to its revamped menu and innovative digital strategies, the company made a $277.9 million profit in its 2017 fiscal year.

In 2017, Pizza Hut’s revenue dropped due to the crisis and troubles in the business. With that effect, Domino’s beat them with their sale. To get back in the race, the parent company of Pizza Hut, Yum Brands, is going to invest $130 million into the company. The company will use this money to upgrade equipment, improve restaurant technology, and boost advertising. If there is one thing that they beat Domino’s in this strategy, it’s their delivery tracking system. They have made their app user-friendly with chatbots and social media sign-in and re-order functionality.

However, by the year 2017, Papa John’s revenue had increased. Due to some difficult situations, the company‘s revenue has fallen in previous years. In July, the same-store sales went down by 10.5%, revenue dropped 15.7% to $346 million, and the net income fell by $13 million. California Pizza Kitchen has the least number of restaurants with 204 stores, but generates revenue comparable to that of Marcos and Round Table Pizza.

Papa Murphy’s, Cicis, and Sbarro also took a hit in 2017 compared to 2016. To minimize losses, Papa Murphy’s has been slowing down growth and concentrating more on re-franchising. While the death of the mall culture seemed to have pulled down Sbarro, they emerged from bankruptcy in 2014 and are now striving for global expansion.
